A standalone bidet can suit larger family bathrooms, ensuites and renovations where there is enough floor space to provide a dedicated fixture rather than adding bidet functions to the toilet itself.

Check the Available Bathroom Space

A separate bidet requires its own floor space, plumbing and comfortable access. Measure the available width and projection and check clearance from the toilet, vanity, shower screen and doorway before ordering.

Consider the toilet and bidet together so they feel proportionate and provide enough room for comfortable everyday use.

Plan the Bidet and Toilet Together

A back-to-wall bidet can create a cleaner appearance by sitting closely against the finished wall. When it is installed beside a back-to-wall toilet, matching the height, ceramic colour and overall shape can help the two fixtures look more coordinated.

Check Water Supply and Tapware

A standalone bidet requires a suitable water supply and compatible bidet tapware. The mixer or tap configuration should suit the bidet's tap-hole arrangement and provide comfortable water control for the user.

Plumbing positions should be planned before wall finishing and tiling, particularly in a new bathroom or full renovation.

Check the Waste and Plumbing Position

The bidet waste needs to align with the plumbing arrangement for the selected model. Check the product dimensions, waste location and water connections before rough-in rather than treating the bidet like a standard basin.
