How to Choose a Small Vanity for an Ensuite or Powder Room

A compact vanity needs to suit both the room and daily use. Start with the space between finished walls, the cabinet depth, basin projection and the clearance needed to open doors or drawers. This collection includes narrow cabinets, wider slimline options and corner designs, so not every model is under 600mm wide.

Measure the Complete Vanity and Opening Space

Check the cabinet and selected top dimensions separately, including any basin or benchtop overhang. Leave space around the toilet, shower screen and bathroom door, and check how far the vanity door or drawer opens. A small cabinet still needs usable access and circulation space.

Selected compact examples include BV65 at 400 x 205mm, BV102 at 400 x 235mm and BV91 at 450 x 295mm as listed on their product pages. Use the individual specification sheet to confirm the dimensions of the exact model and package before installation.

Choose a Narrow Cabinet or a Wider Slimline Vanity

A narrow vanity can suit a powder room with limited wall space, while a wider, shallow cabinet can provide more storage where depth is the main constraint. Selected slimline ranges, including BV38 and BV32WH, have a listed cabinet depth of 360mm and widths from 600mm to 1200mm. Check the basin and top projection as well as cabinet depth.

Compare Bathroom Vanities if the room can accommodate a larger cabinet or you need more benchtop space.

Compare Wall Hung, Freestanding and Corner Layouts

A Wall Hung Vanity leaves visible floor space beneath the cabinet and allows access for floor cleaning. Confirm suitable wall support, fixings and plumbing with your installer. A Freestanding Vanity sits on the floor and still needs the specified fixing and plumbing arrangements.

Corner models need measurements along both walls. BV41 and BV42 offer different corner configurations; check the selected size, basin projection and opening direction rather than assuming a corner cabinet will always take up less space.

Understand Semi-Recessed Basins and Tapware

A semi-recessed basin extends forward beyond the cabinet or top edge. It does not mean the vanity cabinet is recessed into the wall. Measure the full basin projection when checking a narrow walkway, and confirm the basin, tap hole and waste arrangement together.

Choose tapware to suit the selected basin height, tap-hole position and spout reach. Compare Bathroom Basins and Basin Mixers where compatible with your chosen vanity; ask your installer to confirm the combination before ordering.

Check Storage, Plumbing and Package Inclusions

Check usable cupboard or drawer space after allowing for the waste pipe and water connections. Selected slimline options offer left- or right-hand drawers, which should be chosen to suit the plumbing and nearby fixtures. Compare the exact internal layout before replacing an existing vanity.

Some options are cabinet only, while others include a selected top or basin package. Confirm what is included, whether tap holes are supplied and whether tapware or waste fittings must be purchased separately. Compare compatible Ceramic Vanity Tops or Stone Vanity Tops before finalising the order.

Choose the Finish for a Small Bathroom

Compare Gloss White Vanities for a reflective finish, Matt White Vanities for a softer appearance, or Woodgrain Vanities for timber-look options. Selected compact designs also have fluted fronts; explore Fluted Vanities if you want more surface detail.

Colours, cabinet materials and surface finishes vary by model. Follow the selected product's care instructions, wipe up splashes promptly and avoid prolonged water contact. Choose the required colour on multi-colour listings before ordering.
